“True beauty isn’t in how big your breasts are, or how large your eyes are, or how pretty your nose is. All that is temporary. Breasts sag, skin gets wrinkles, waists become wider, and strong backs stoop…True beauty is in how that person makes you feel. When a man truly loves you, the longer you are together, the more beautiful you will be to him. When he looks at you and you look at him, you won’t just see the surface. You will see everything you shared, everything you’ve been through, and every happy moment you hope for.”
Shapeshifting tigress Dali Harimau is a powerful healer and magic user who dislikes violence and bloodshed. When she is approached by a desperate woman whose grandmother vanished, she needs Jim’s help to investigate.
I was so excited when I saw that this was a Jim and Dali story! I love these two! They are still in the beginning of their relationship and have a lot of things to work out, especially Dali. Dali struggles to accept that Jim wants her because she can’t see herself as an alpha, nor does she see herself as attracted. It takes a heartfelt conversation for her to realize Jim really does love her and see her as a powerful woman and shifter, just in her own way.
Each story with these two is fascinating because of the unique evil they always end up facing. I love how Dali keeps the balance in her community. I really hope we see more of these two in the future because I can’t get enough of them.
