3 stars – I liked it

Betrayal is all Zephyros Martius has known. When his anger puts Marcellea Raines’ life in danger he does everything he can to save her. But the more time he spends with her the more he wants to stay.

Zephyros, the Supreme God of the West Wind and Spring, has had a very rough life. Almost every person he has loved has left him for another. His story was an emotional one full of heartbreak and hope. Ella is a strong, sweet, and compassionate woman. She has lost everyone in her family and can see the loneliness eating away at Zeph just like it is her too.

While working through their relationship they are also dealing with Zeph’s brother, the East Wind Eurus, who is continuously trying to hurt Zeph. With truss being an issue for Zeph, he ends up making some major mistakes that almost costs him Ella. The ending of this book was extremely emotional as they worked through their trust issues.

This book also goes a lot deeper into the mythology of the Anemoi and how their power structure works. We see more of the main gods and some of the rules they have to abide by. I found the expansion of this world fascinating and can’t wait to learn more about it

Trigger warning:

  • Infertility
  • Heroines twin brother has recently died.
  • Forced kiss and assault of heroine by villain (on page).
