2 stars – it was ok

Fiona Fine is the hottest fashion designer in Bigtime, but she is also one of the Fearless Five. Fiona has finally decided it is time to put herself back out there after the death of her fiancé, and fellow Fearless Five member Tornado. First she has to deal with the new supervillains in town.

Fiona was not my favorite character in the first book and needless to say she didn’t improve much in this one. She is a thirty year old woman who expects to get her way in everything or she will throw a fit until everyone gives in. Fiona also has a very aggressive and negative attitude towards other characters in this book, particularly Carmen and Lulu, which makes it extremely hard for me to actually like her. Basically, I didn’t really like anything about Fiona.

Johnny Bullucci was a pretty good character but he was overshadowed by Fiona. Also it is hard for me to imagine him falling for someone as shallow as Fiona. It was very obvious who he was and it amazed me how stupid Fiona was about his identity.

I enjoyed the action scenes with them fighting the villains more than I enjoyed the romance between these two. I just had too many issues with Fiona to actually love this story. Also the beginning scene with the wedding felt repetitive since the first book started with a wedding and this made it harder for me to get into this book initially. I will continue reading this series but this one is definitely not my favorite.
