4 stars – It was really good

Carmen Cole is determined to unmask the spandex wearing superheroes and villains after she finds out her cheating fiancé is a superhero. Exposing identities leads Carmen to Bigtime, New York to uncover the identities of the Fearless Five and Terrible Triad. But when dealing with superheros and villains things never go as planned.

This was a fun and silly romance. I loved the concept of this world with superheroes and villains. Carmen is a journalist who has turned her puzzle solving brain onto unmasking supers. A series of unfortunate events leads her to meeting Striker, leader of the Fearless Five. Sparks instantly fly between these two but they fight it for a while.

Striker was a good superhero leader. He reminded me a bit of Batman but he actually has super senses and abilities.  These two had a steamy and intense relationship that was also filled with a lot of fear, guilt and sadness. I really enjoyed this story, especially since their relationship took time and wasn’t the whole focus of the book.

I am really interested in seeing Carmen in the future books and how she deals with all the changes that happened to her. I won’t say more than that because I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone.

Overall, this was a fun and interesting world. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series and find out what all I have forgotten.
