What is your favorite ‘can’t leave the house’ activity?
My favorite ‘can’t leave the house’ activity besides reading, is sewing. I like to cosplay and working on a new costume or project is a great excuse to not leave the house.
A book you’ve been meaning to read forever?
Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews. This is the final Kate Daniels book and it came out in 2018. I put if off at first because I wasn’t read for the series to end but at this point I barely remember what happened throughout the series because its been so long since I read the first book. I plan on rereading the whole series at some point this year.
An intimidating book on your TBR?
A couple of books would work for this question but this was the first one I thought of. Uprooted by Naomi Novik was a very popular book and I heard a lot of good things about it. I am intimidated by it for a couple of reasons. 1.) This book is very popular and I find that I rarely enjoy the popular books. Not to say I hate every popular book but I have found they rarely live up to the hype. 2.) This is a YA book. I rarely enjoy YA books but its a fantasy retelling and I love retellings. I will read this book one day though.
Top 3 books on your TBR?
I still haven’t read my signed copy of The Jackal by J.R. Ward. I plan on getting to it soon but I have been struggling with new read lately so I have mostly been rereading favorites.
I just checked out Monstress Vol. 1 from my library and I hope I enjoy it. Its been a while since I read a comic.
I also need to get caught up with the Innkeeper series so I will be reading Sweep the Blade soon. Hopefully I this week but we will see.
Recommend a short book?
Prisoner of Love by Beverly Jenkins is 75 page novella. Its is a great story though and I highly recommend it. It was my first Beverly Jenkins book and I have since read quite a few of her books.
Recommend a long book?
I highly recommend Stamped From the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi which has 582 pages. I haven’t even finished this book and I have learned so much from it. It really shows how defective the education system has been at teaching the history of slavery and oppression.
What book do you plan on reading next?
I will be reading the next Innkeeper Chronicles book, One Fell Sweep.
Anyone who wants to participate because I don’t like to choose.
