4 stars – It was really good

Devon Crawford is an Army pilot who flies medical evacs in Afghanistan. She is determined to protect her heart but Cam Munro is determined to win her over. While fighting for their lives these two finally face their feelings.

I know when I pick up a book by Cross that it will be suspenseful and great. This one did not disappoint! This book was action packed from the start and filled with an emotional romance.

Devon was a determined and skilled pilot. She is struggling with her attraction to Cam because not only could they get in trouble for it but also because he was her ex Tyler’s best friend. She is struggling to deal with her guilt at Ty’s death and her attraction to Cam. I really liked her because she felt like a real and genuine person.

Cam was the protective alpha male who wanted to protect Devon. I liked that while he was protective he still was proud of her abilities and allowed her to do her job. He doesn’t try to change her or force her to stop doing what she loves. He just loves and protects her when she needs it. Cam was just everything I look for in an alpha hero, especially in a military romance.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and want to continue the series. The side characters were just as interesting as the main couple and now I need to know their stories. If you are looking for a suspenseful military romance check out this book.
