3 stars – I liked it

Elijah is a shy, nerdy, 22 year old who is just starting his Ph.D. at CalTech. When his best friend’s older brother, Pax, starts hanging out with him, his teenage crush comes rushing back.

This was a quick and easy read. I really liked nerdy and awkward Elijah. His awkwardness and insecurities in social situations and around strangers was so relatable. It was nice to watch him grow and come out of his shell with Pax. He will always be the shy and awkward nerd but he still grows and becomes more confident in himself.

Pax is a 30 year old bachelor who loves his traveling job. While I really loved Elijah, Pax was a different story for me. I liked him until he admitted he has cheated multiple times before. This is usually when I would DNF a book because I now have doubts about their HEA but I was actually enjoying the story so decided to continue to read it. He does discuss this with Elijah but I just lost my love for Pax after that and it really shadowed the rest of the story for me.

Overall, this was a quick and easy college romance. While it does have a few issues I still enjoyed the book.
