3 stars – I liked it

This story was originally published under the anthologies the Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance and Under Her Skin. Frost later added to the story.

Marlee Peters is tired of putting her dreams on hold which is why she is determined to hike in Yellowstone. Unfortunately she gets lost and ends up being hunted by a werewolf pack. She is saved by a handsome stranger, Daniel, who also is a wolf. Now she has to deal with her feelings for this wolf and the new changes within her.

This was a good short story, but I do wish it had been slightly longer. The relationship between Daniel and Marlee felt very rushed and I wish it had been a little more flushed out. I felt like we needed more time to learn more about these two characters and their mating. That said I did enjoy this short story. It was a fast paced and emotional story (even with needing some work). I also would have loved some chapters from David’s POV. This is mostly because I love getting both characters POVs.

I really enjoyed the narrator, Tavia Gilbert. She did an amazing job at the different voices and portraying the emoticons that Marlee was feeling. I recommend this as an audiobook because of how well she does with the narration.

While I do wish this had been expanded into a longer novella, or full story, I do recommend it. I think this was a great short story that you can quickly listen to.
