Title: Bonds of Justice
Author: Nalini Singh
Series: Psy-Changeling #8
Pages: 359

Max Shannon is one of New York’s best cops. He was born with a natural shield that protects him against Psy mental invasions. His current case is to track down a murderer targeting a Psy Counselor advisor and his partner is a J-Psy who he can’t stop thinking about.
I was hesitant to start this book because I didn’t love the previous book with Dev. Like Dev, Max has barely been a part of the series so far so I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this one. I was wrong. From the very beginning I was absorbed into the story and couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen with him and Sophia.
Max is a protective alpha male who has dedicated his life to stopping bad people. He had a terrible childhood and it has made him determined to help people. I really enjoyed Max and his dedication to saving Sophia. Sophia is a J-Psy (justice) and is very close to being rehabilitated. Her shields are basically done for at this point and she knows it’s just a matter of time before she is taken away. Her and Max make the most of what time they have left in between catching a murder.
“We fit, you and I….“Two broken pieces making a whole.”
I really enjoyed these two. The feelings between these two were strong and heartbreaking. I couldn’t put the book down because of it. There was also development with the Pure Psy and who is behind that. I really can’t wait to read the next book to find out what is going to happen next for the Psy.
