Title: Blaze of Memory
Author: Nalini Singh
Series: Psy-Changeling #7
Pages: 386

Dev Santos discovers an unconscious and battered woman on his doorstep. She has no memory of who she is but she knows she is dangerous. Ekaterina “Katya” Haas was stripped over everything by her oppressor and is now fighting for her sanity and freedom.
So this book was just ok. I didn’t really love the couple. Dev and Katya were both passing side characters in previous books and I think that is partly why I wasn’t as interested in this couple. The other factor was the characters themselves and their romance. Dev was constantly hot and cold throughout the book which got old quick. I don’t see how Katya was able to fall for Dev because he was constantly moody and willing to kill her at any point. I ended up skimming a lot of their dialogue because I just wasn’t enjoying it. I probably would have liked this book more if it had been a novella because it felt like it went on a little too long.
The reason this book is getting 3 stars even though I didn’t love the couple was because of the progression of the overall storyline and all the side stories. We learn a lot of new things about the Forgotten in this book. It was fascinating to “see” their Net and how it operates. There is also new information about the Arrows. One of the other things I really enjoyed in this book though was the letters. Periodically there were letters written by one of the original Forgotten to her child about the choices they made and why. The letters were very powerful and emotional.
While this one wasn’t my favorite, I will continue to read this series because it is a fascinating world and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Previous books in the series:

#2 Visions of Heat
#3 Caressed by Ice

I liked her Rock series a lot, but I have never tried her paranormal books. Thanks for sharing!

I haven’t read that series. I don’t usually love rockstar romances.

It is not my go-to theme either. Some of the books in the series are quite good, though.
