4 stars – It was really good

It may be a surprise but this is my first time reading this book. I loved the movie growing up but never actually picked up the book. Since I saw it was an option for a Romanceopoly prompt this year I decided it was time to remedy that.

I really enjoyed this book. I was surprised by how accurate the movie seemed to be. I was really expecting a lot of changes but all I really noticed was that Stanely is overweight in the book. I loved the jumps from the past and present and how this story was told. I loved the bond between Stanley and Zero. You can see lifelong friends in their relationship.

My only issue with this audiobook was the narrator. I liked him when he did Stanley’s voice but anytime he did someone else’s it wasn’t great.

Overall, I really wish I had read this as a young adult because I know it would have been a favorite. I am glad that I finally read it though.
