4 stars – It was really good

Finn Erickson spends his time flying Hell Squad into combat. His quadcopter is the only woman he needs, especially since she doesn’t argue with him like a certain drone pilot does. Lia Murphy lost everyone in the invasion and now refuses to get emotionally attached to anyone. Unfortunately, one cocky and arrogant pilot pushes all her buttons and makes her want more. When he issues a flight challenge with the prize being a night in his bed, she doesn’t know if she wants to win or lose.

The focus of this book is reestablishing communications with the other bases around the world. This brings Finn and Lia together as they search for a jet that will be able to drop an amplifier in the ocean. As with the rest of the series, this book was a nonstop action packed adventure filled with romance and, of course, lots of aliens.

Finn is a confident pilot who is used to being out on the front lines. His feelings for Lia have shifted and his idea of a one night stand doesn’t make them go away. Finn was a great hero and I really appreciated that he admitted his mistakes and tried to make things better. Lia is as confident as Finn in his piloting skills. I loved watching them butt heads and be snarky. It was so amusing.

Overall this was another action packed book for the series and I cannot wait to see what will happen next. Also I can’t wait to see what new kind of alien shows up.
