4 stars – It was really good

Makenna James doesn’t think her day could get any worse, until she finds herself stuck in an elevator with a complete stranger. Caden Grayson is amused by this beautiful redhead who looks like she is having a rough day. When the power fails, his worst fear comes true as they are both stuck in a dark enclosed space.

This was such a sweet and cute novella. I loved how Makenna and Caden met and fell for each other before ever actually seeing each other’s faces. The dark and intimate setting allowed them both to be their true selves, issues and all. Makenna met Caden’s issues head on and helped him through his claustrophobia. She made him feel whole even when he was struggling in the dark.

“His chest felt full and tight at the same time, but above it all he admired and appreciated the way Makenna met his issues head on—kissing his scar, comforting him about the loss of his family, making him feel so accepted by wanting to understand why he’d marked himself again and again.”

In 24 hours these two found their forever while stuck in a terrible situation. While most people would fall apart in a situation like this, me included, these two banded together and found happiness.  I loved this one and I am so glad there is a second novella for these two because I need more!
