5 stars – I loved it!

Socialite Julie Baptiste yearns for more than engagements and niceties dictated by New York’s high society. To get away she answers an advertisement for a mail order bride, and finds herself with not one husband but two.

I could not put this book down! I was instantly addicted to Julie’s story and her interactions with Will and Forest. Julie was smart, bold, and independent. I adored her! She had a love of books as well and totally related to her feelings on them. Her husband’s Will and Forest are both strong, protective alpha males with distinct personalities. Forest is sweet and not afraid to show how much he cares for Julie. I loved that his nickname for her was ‘little bird.’ Will is the reserved one and has problems showing and talking about his feelings, which ends up causing some issues. I liked both of them but wish we had some scenes from their POV as well. I also wish we had a little bit more of their backstory and saw the development of their love for each other.

Carter created a wonderful and interesting town filled with some wonderful characters. Overall, I loved this book and will immediately be reading the next one. Also the cover is absolutely beautiful!
