Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Bought Because….

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

This week’s topic is: Books I Bought/Borrowed Because of the reviews.

So here are 10 books that I have bought or added to my TBR to buy because fellow reviewers raved about them. I will try to remember who recommended or was reading them as well.

  1. The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams has been recommended by so many people that I decided to go ahead and add it to my TBR pile. It’s actually on sale right now for $2.99.

2. The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. This is another book that everyone was raving about when it came out. I own it on kindle and recieved a publisher copy when I was at C2E2 this year. I plan to read it for one of my reading challenges this year.

3. Nearly Departed in Deadwood by Ann Charles. This book was recommeded to my by my MIL and has been on my TBR for a few years now. I am hoping to read it this year.

4. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. This is one of those books that everyone recommends of Gaiman’s. I finally bought a copy and read it in 2016. I loved it and totally recommend it.

5. The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren. This is another book that all the reviewers I follow seemed to be raving about. I read it last month and really enjoyed it, especially considering how heavy the subject matter is. I will be continuing the series.

6. Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik. This is one that I don’t own yet but will either borrow form my library or buy it if it goes on sale. I saw HEA Book Nerd‘s review for this book and thought it was right up my ally. I can’t wait to read it.

7. Uprooted by Naomi Novik. This was another one that was everywhere when it came out. It still is getting good reviews as well. I am planning on reading it this month for the O.W.L.s Magical Readathon.

8. How to Date Your Dragon by Molly Harper. This was originally a Audible Original but the released an ebook of it later on. I purchased this ebook after seeing Angel’s Guilty Pleasures review on Goodreads.

9. Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon. This series is a great alien romance and I usually read them as soon as they come out. It was Under the Covers Book Blog’s review on Goodreads that got me to pick this book up years ago. I don’t regret it.

10. Marcus by Anna Hackett. I saw this reviewed initially on HEA Book Nerd’s goodreads and instantly went and read it.

This was my first Hackett book but not my last. I have since read every book she has written, some of them multiple times. I love her work.

So there my 10 books bought because of reviews. What book have you bought because of a review?

  1. I haven’t heard of a lot of these titles but The Bromance Book Club, The Bear and the Nightingale and Uprooted were also books I picked up because of all the rave reviews about them! And I’m so glad I picked them all up too 😀 Great post!
