4 stars out of five
4 stars – It was really good

With this book, we go back to the first couple, Wray and Kim, and get their story of how they met. Kim was kidnapped from Earth by the Ganglian’s and was abused and assaulted. Right when she knew she couldn’t go on any longer Wray intercepts the Ganglian ship and rescues her. While transporting Kim to his ship their shuttle is hit and they crash on the planet Pontus. While there he gets to know Kim and for the first time realizes females can be caring. Meeting Kim changes everything for Wray.

Kim has been through hell and survived. Now she has to navigate a new world, a new culture, and her feelings for Wray. These two have a lot of emotional scars to work through before they can have a future together. I love the over-protective, sweet, and clueless Tornian males. Wray, and all Tornian males, are the perfect male aliens and check all my boxes for a perfect alien hero.

Like I said in my review of Grim, this series is a favorite of mine and always makes me happy. I know there are a lot of grammatical and plot issues but the romance between the couples is what I really love. I know this series will not be for everyone, but it is my guilty pleasure and I will continue to reread it as I wait for the next book to come out.

Reader Warning: Heroine is raped and abused.
