4 stars – It was really good

Dr. Layne Rush has discovered a new tomb in Egypt with a lot of valuable artifacts, including one that talks about the legendary oasis of Zerzura. When a group of men attack and steal the artifacts Treasure Hunter Security is called in to help security the current dig site and to recover what was stolen. Declan Ward is on the hunt for the men and the artifacts but doesn’t know what to make of the smart and stubborn Dr. Rush.

I forgot how much I loved this series! This book has some of my favorite things in the world: archeology, Ancient Egypt, lost history, treasure hunting, and a lot of action-romance. I am so glad I am taking the time to reread this series!

Declan and Layne were such a smart and sexy couple. I loved Declan. He was strong, dependable, and very supportive of Layne’s career. I love that him and his family has a whole business about protecting archeological digs and artifacts. Declan has shut himself off from feeling after so many missions while a SEAL but Layne shows him how to live again. She makes him open his eyes and see the world he has been missing.

“She just burned with life, with passion, and he wanted to feel that every day. Wanted to see her smile, wanted to kiss her every day.”

Layne was smart, capable, and totally rocking the Indiana Jones vibe. I loved her and I want to be her. I have always wanted to be an archeologist and love anything to do with Egypt. She isn’t afraid to stand up to Declan or tell him how she feels, she even slugs him a few times (which I loved).

I quite adored these two. I really hope they pop up in future books because I can’t get enough of them (I don’t really remember if they do FYI). I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and see the Ward siblings fall in love and discover new treasure.
