Max, Janie’s bodyguard, is sent to find Sara before the Kurjans do. Once he meets her he realizes she is his mate and he will do everything he can to protect her.
This was a nice novella to add to the series. I have been curious about Max since he was introduced in the first book. He has had a rough past but it has made him into a strong soldier. Sara is a teacher with the gift of psychometry, the ability to read the past from objects. She has been on the run from the Kurjans and her brother for a while. Together these two make a very cute couple. Max shows his more dominant side with her but he is also a big teddy bear with her.
I liked these two and can’t wait to see them in future books. I also like that we are getting stories for some of the side characters.
